DRM Challenges Lifted for Next Assassin’s Creed

Ubisoft has stated that its "Always On" Internet connection digital rights management (DRM) will not feature in Assassin's Creed Revelations.

Many gamers have always had a problem with Ubisoft’s “Always-on” DRM which would not let gamers play their games unless their Internet connection was active.

RockPaperShotgun has confirmed that Ubisoft will no longer be using the same DRM as it has been using.

“Ubisoft have just confirmed for me that the game will not be coming with their hideous 'always-on' DRM – a sign that perhaps, since it’s absent from such a big title, that they’re finally recognising it shouldn’t be anywhere near any of their products,” says the report.

Gamers will need to be online initially to activate the product before they play and then it will be completely available to play offline without an Internet connection. This is definitely a step in the right direction for Ubisoft as they continue to bring out some really great titles.
