New Developer Diary for MUD

MUD FIM Motocross World Championship was released last Friday and a number of development diaries have been released in anticipation for the game. Here's the fifth diary, which focuses on game play and game modes with a guest star: Italian rider Tony Cairoli (five times Motocross World Champion - MX1 and MX2 - and currently a rider for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team).

Cairoli says he's glad he got to try out MUD for himself.

"It’s great fun and the only game to have the official license for the motocross world championship. You can choose all the riders from both MX1 and MX2 categories… Players are going to love it. Motocross for me means speed, mud and glory, the three words I tattooed on my back. I really enjoy finding these three features in MUD!

“An amazing feature of Milestone’s title is definitely the scrub. It's a typical Motocross maneuver and is used very often for overtaking by spending as short a time as possible in the air: try to complete the jump and land before your adversary. Being able to use the scrub makes the game very realistic, and I hope that many players have fun riding my virtual bike or one of their favourite champions,” he says.

MUD FIM Motocross World Championship includes the MX1 and MX2 Championships as well as the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations and The Monster Energy Trick Battle Mode. It features 14 different bikes, 84 riders (including stars such as Ryan Villopoto, Tony Cairoli, Chad Reed, Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen) and 12 official tracks, as well as featuring a new game engine with fully deformable terrain conditions and a realistic MX handling model.
