Many Changes at Twilight Gaming

Over the last few months, the Twilight team, which host the local Warcraft 3 and DotA server, has been working hard on its server and community.

Since re-branding as Twilight Gaming, significant changes have been made to both the inner workings of the server and the end-user experience.

The team started by rehiring all the staff. Applications were open to the community and all current staff had to reapply. Now there are several categories of staff, each with their own specific focus.

One of these categories is the Development Team: A group of players who use their programming skills to give back to the community. The development team has launched several new projects since its inception, including:

  • The Twilight Portal
  • Diablo II Closed Realm
  • Forums
  • Blog
  • Stats
Tournaments

The changes also include weekly tournaments for quite a few of the maps. Players can join in on these tournaments by joining channel Tourney on the server. Most of the events start at about 6.30PM. Prizes are in the form of 150 experience points (EXP) for first place and 100 EXP for second place. The prizing is awarded per player.

Over the next month or so Twilight Gaming plan to start with an official Twilight League where clans will be able to sign up and play - but this is still to be finalised.

Should existing or new players have any queries or want to find out more, they can check out the Twilight Portal where they will have to login.

New players can register an account which will give them access to both the forum and the server. Should they have any problems there is an advanced help and ticket system built into the portal.

This is the first community where I'm involved from behind a little as well.

What I'm interested to know is whether other groups also put so much time into it all >< I'm sure all groups help themselves but this was so much work woah ><

great job on the rework guys! I love the new look! But alas, with the power shifting, there is now new power hungry mongers who are unhelpful, arrogant and generally unpleasant, and make people like myself not play DoTa anymore, haven't logged in since Aug 09. Really miss it, and the players & legends.

HoOdeh - The changes mostly went into effect after August, so you should give it another shot! I think our new operator team is doing a much improved job. We even have a specific division of operators who only exist to hunt down abusive ops. If you do come back and find trouble, simply contact the Inquisition team at inq@tga.za.net
