LoL FPS Drop Investigation

Although this has been a serious problem on the North American (NA) League of Legends (LoL) servers, there have been a few complaints about it on the Europe West (EUW) server.

According to Riot Games, there has been potential FPS drops for some players with the latest release of their client. This happened after the emergency platform maintenance that took up most of Thursday, 13 February.

Riot Games is asking that anyone with a problem follow the instructions below to create a dxdiag (DirectX Diagnostics) file and upload it to the forum post.

  • Click on the Start/Windows Button.

  • In the search field type “dxdiag” and press enter. If you are running Windows XP, you will need to click Run first.

  • The DirectX Diagnostic Tool window should appear.

  • Click on “Save All Information” button. This should bring up a Save As Window.

  • Click on "Save". The file should be saved to your desktop as dxdiag.txt

  • Close the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

According to Riot Games: “Your computer name will be shown in this text file - if you have identifying / sensitive information as a part of your Computer's name, please do not attach this text file, or modify the computer name in the output file. This information is stored in the value named ‘Machine Name’.”

It is hopeful that none of the players in the LoL Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) are experiencing this and if anyone is, this problem gets sorted out quickly. The LoL DGL is about to enter Week Three, a week that also serves as the Transfer Window for teams that need or want to change players.
