LoL Summer Playoff Games Starting to be Organised

The League of Legends (LoL) Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) 2014 Summer Playoffs are halfway through week one and even though games are being organised, not one has been played yet.

The Premier Playoffs will see six games being played per team over the four week interval and all games must be played or will result in a forfeit. A forfeit at this level would be very detrimental to both teams and it is therefore advised that teams get these games organised and over with as soon as possible. There are four spots open in the Premier Division, which means that the bottom three teams will be demoted to the First Division.

The Breakthrough Playoffs will see two groups of six teams each which means that each team will have to play five games over the four week period. This should not prove very difficult as teams can play two games in the first week and then one a week from there. The teams are playing for one of six spots in the First Division, top three per group, while the rest will be demoted to the Open Division. It is important to remind teams that those who came first in each group of the Open Division will not have to take part in the Breakthrough Playoffs but are promoted to the First Division automatically.

The way the 2014 Summer Playoffs is set up is so that the DGL can see that a team is dedicated enough to be in a higher division. This is seen as there are no mandatory weekly games but teams can play any game at any time.

There are a few rules when it comes to the 2014 Summer Playoffs, the most important being that “players who do not form part of the group of ‘Core Players’ who play in the Playoffs must remain in the team's line-up until the first Winter Leg transfer window”

Team are also reminded that games must be scheduled on the match thread for every game. If you are unaware of the benefits of doing this, you can check out this handy guide. For information on when games are being scheduled for, you can go to each match thread in the Summer Premier Playoffs as well as the Summer Breakthrough Playoffs.

The 2014 League of Legends Telkom Do Gaming League is sponsored by Razer.
