LoL Rosters Locked Once Again

Week Six is known by all in the League of Legends (LoL) Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) 2014 Winter Leg as the final Transfer Window before the end of the leg. To some teams it is a chance to reinvent themselves as they get the chance to swop out some players, as long as they keep their core and stick to the rules.

The Transfer Window only affects teams in First and Premier Division as there has been a new rule implemented that allows Open Division teams to change their team as much as they like. This comes after a high amount of retirements happened in the Summer Leg due to players just dropping the team they are playing for.

The new rule really gives teams in the Open Division a fighting chance at staying in the league and not being suspended as a result of one or two of their team mates not sticking to their word.

The rest of the league is affected by the Transfer Windows and subsequent roster locks as by being in an upper tier division, players are required to be more professional. With the higher tier teams, you can see a lot of competitiveness from all the players, those that care enough to be there will not be messed around and made a fool of. The Transfer Window is used as a type of buffer so that teams do have the option of swopping out players if they are deemed unreliable or if a higher skilled player is found and roped into the team.

It is also a time for teams to revaluate which players will be in the starting line-up and which will have to step back and be a reserve for various different reasons, such as exams or being unable to put all their efforts into making their team one of the best in South Africa. With exams having finished and not starting again for quite some time, it is doubtful that many changes are being made to teams with regards to needing to study and being unable to attend practices or matches.

With only two Transfer Windows in each leg, players must make the choice to be the very best they can be, or step down so that another player can take the team on to victory.
