LoL Rivalry Set to Play in Week Six

Although ROCCAT| RE VERA (now eN.Re Vera) won at the League of Legends (LoL) Telkom Do Gaming Championships (DGC), they were almost taken out by Leash.LoL (iM'Unleash). The games were tight last year and we will get to see that rematch in Week Six.

eN.Re Vera will be playing some time over the weekend as a date and time has not been completely agreed upon while iM'Unleash will be playing on Monday night.

The games between DC.LoL and ReN~Renegades as well as GooN SquaD and VTG Void Tactics have been played so far this week. DC.LoL beat out ReN~Renegades to show their talent as they have moved up from the First Division after the 2013 Winter Leg Playoffs. GooN SquaD was able to beat out VTG Void Tactics to share the top spot with DC.LoL.

It will be interesting to see how each team does as we go further in the league. After the changes to Summoners Rift and some items, the game is quite different from what we saw last year. There is more emphasis on junglers and supports as they get new gold income items to help keep them relevant in the game.

A lot of the professional players have started picking up champions that weren’t as favoured last year and it will be interesting to see if the Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) players will follow the same trends. A lot of the more “squishy” champions have come back into play, such as Ziggs and Warwick.

Some changes have come to the more favoured supports. Of course Thresh and Annie are still some of the most contested picks when it comes to support but a stray Leona has been popping up every now and then as well as Lulu, who used to be one of the staple supports of Season Three. Zyra has pretty much fallen by the wayside even though she was extremely popular in Season Three. It will be interesting to see what the South African teams come up with and how they change the newest meta to suit their needs.
