New Card Announced; PurePower Tastes Defeat

One of the announcements from Blizzard during the PAX East conference earlier this month was the launch of Hearthstone’s new Naxxramas Adventure mode which would introduce 30 new cards.

Of those 30 cards, the developer revealed that nine would be class specific, the first of which, Poison Seeds, was announced on the official @PlayHearthstone Twitter account.

Blizzard has since revealed the latest entry into its widely popular competitive TCG, the Paladin common secret, Avenge.

Additionally, five cards were initially revealed at PAX, which you can see below:

Baron Rivendare: 4 Mana / 1 Attack / 7 Health – Your minions trigger their Deathrattles twice.
Nerubian Egg: 2 Mana / 0 Attack / 2 Health – Deathrattle: Summon a 4/4 Nerubian.
Undertaker: 1 Mana / 1 Attack / 2 Health – Whenever you summon a minion with Deathrattle, gain +1 / +1
Shade of Naxxramas: 3 Mana / 2 Attack / 2 Health – Stealth. At the start of your turn, gain +1 / +1.
Dancing Swords: Deathrattle: Your opponent draws a card.

Meanwhile, Nicholas 'PurePower' Katkuzinos suffered his first defeat of the 2014 Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) Breakthrough Playoff campaign when he went down 2-0 to Ryan 'Arachne' Norden on Monday, 1 May.

The 21 year old managed five consecutive playoff victories and despite the first loss, Katkuzinos remains top of Group D, three points clear of Norden with one more match to go against Luaan 'Gpm' Rentzke later this week.

Regardless of the result, Katkuzinos, who finished fourth in the Open Division’s Group A during the Summer Leg is virtually guaranteed to close off his playoff campaign in the top half of the table and will be delighted with First Division competition come the Winter Leg.
