Hearthstone Insta-Clash Cup Still Open

Once again the South African Hearthstone community is out in full force as registrations for the Hearthstone Insta - Clash Cup Valentines Edition reach the half-century mark.

Entries for Blizzard's free-to-play collectible card game sit at 51 as of writing, with the registration scheduled to end tomorrow, Tuesday, 11 February.

Summer Leg sign ups set a new milestone for individual competition in the Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) with 294 players spread out across 16 different groups.

Match week one is already underway, with well over 100 league matchups already completed as the group leaders begin to shape up.

Hearthstone's success isn't just limited to the South African community.

Activision Blizzard recently announced Hearthstone as one of three 'potential groundbreaking franchises' for 2014, alongside Blizzard: Heroes of the Storm, and the Chinese market-targeted Call of Duty Online.

Each Hearthstone battle is a 1vs1 match between two opponents.

Game play is turn-based, with players taking turns to play cards from their hand, casting spells, equipping weapons, or summoning 'minions' to do battle.

Prospective players can sign up and play Hearthstone, for free, here.
