Hearthstone Cup Final Confirmed

After two weeks of competition, 64 players have been reduced to just two with Dylan 'Pixelpusha' Henderson set to meet Andrew 'pIjIN' Clark in the Hearthstone (HS) Insta-Clash Cup (ICC) Valentine’s Edition Grand Final later this week.

The finalists began their respective cup journeys on completely opposite ends of the bracket, with Clark taking berth in Group 1 while Henderson kicked-off preceding in Group 2.

Clark battled through Byron 'Green-Hydra' Trent, Stephanus 'TWAKKIE' Coetzee, David 'KilZares' Ellis convincingly before a heated semi-final clash with last year’s ICC runner up Ben 'Noxville' Steenhuisen.

The pair met on Wednesday, 26 February in a controversial matchup which saw Clark walk away with a narrow 2-1 victory to secure a spot in the grand finale.

Subject to the outcome of the match, Steenhuisen cited that he felt Clark wasted too much time during their match.

The former MTG player argued that the ‘long-turns’ were ’unacceptable‘ and that ‘foul play’ may have been involved.

Despite Steenhuisen’s clear objections, the league ruled that there was no evidence to suggest Clark had intentionally breached the set Rules and Regulations and that the latter would still progress to the tournament final.

Henderson enjoyed a bumpy yet fruitful road to the final as he bested Marc 'Surge' Du Plessis, Justin ‘Thr4sh3r’ Botha, Saleem 'Slimz' Manjoo and Do Gaming chief editor Robert 'GrIdL0cK' Clegg in the round-of-eight.

Henderson was left to face a promising Tiaan 'WpPrRz' Brink on Thursday, 27 February which saw the latter exit the competition after a solid 2-0 defeat.

With last year’s winner Sakkie 'RandomHero' Basson notably absent from the competition, Henderson and Clark will have until 23:00 CAT tomorrow night to play out their grand final as we look to crown a new HS ICC champion.
