FIFA 14 Predicts Germany to win World Cup

Germany will win the 2014 FIFA World Cup by defeating hosts Brazil 2-1 in extra time, according to a special FIFA 14 simulation, EA Sports announced today.

"EA was able to simulate the 2014 FIFA World Cup and test all 32 teams under the same conditions they will face in the weeks ahead in Brazil," says the publisher.

"It was determined that Germany will defeat Brazil 2-1 (ET) at the Estádio do Maracanã on July 13 to win the country's fourth FIFA World Cup, becoming the first European nation to win the FIFA World Cup on South American soil."

According to the simulation, Neymar opened the scoring for Brazil before Per Mertesacker slumps a header past Julio César for Germany’s late equalizer.

Miroslav Klose goes on to seal the deal with a goal in extra time to give Germany its fourth World Cup title.

Interestingly, EA's predictions have been have been surprisingly accurate in the past, for example, four years ago, EA Sports correctly predicted that Spain would win the World Cup in South Africa.
