Blizzard Nervous about Diablo Reception

It seems that Blizzard may be nervous about Diablo 3’s reception from the public given that the game is one of the most anticipated for this year, and perhaps even last year.

Micah ‘Bashiok’ Whiple, Diablo 3 community manager, on the Battle.net forums, seems worried that Diablo 3 might not be able to meet the expectations people have built for the game.

“On a more serious note, I too worry that we won’t be able to meet the expectations people have built up for themselves. Part of my job is managing people’s expectations, so… eh… stop it,” he says.

Diablo 2 enjoyed phenomenal success so it’s not really rocket science to figure that the third game in the series would enjoy similar, if not more success. The beta for the game is out and Whiple says there is only about 40 minutes of content in it. That hasn’t stopped gamers playing it for hours on end, because there are actually gamers out there that will sit and farm items on the boss.

In all honesty Whiple may have started out seriously but turns the post into a joke later where he tells gamers to compare it with certain movies. He finishes the post off by saying gamers should lower their expectations but still definitely buy the game.

For those that don’t already know, Do Gaming is having a Diablo 3 beta key competition that you can find here so you can have a chance to test the game early.
