BravadoIn what was certainly the game of the week in the Call of Duty 4 (CoD4) Telkom Do Gaming Premier League, sG | Prododge (Prodigy Gaming) beat Bravado 14 – 10 on the map Backlot.
Dustin 'KonTraBanN' Rhodes, captain of Prodigy, says that his team decided to defend first after winning the knife round, as they enjoy attack on this map and wanted to play their harder side first.
He didn't play the first half, however, which is a very interesting tactic. “I'm on Scope and we don't play Scope that much on Backlot. So we decided to let Rapha 'Swiss' Herles play AK. He timed-out during half-time though, so I came back for the second half.
“It's also good to let all your players have some game time,” he says.
The half-time score was 7 – 5 to Prodigy. When the second half started Rhodes played AK instead of Scope. Prodigy dominated B bombsite on attack and rotated a lot. When Prodigy hit 13 Bravado were on eight points, who were struggling to adapt; but Bravado obviously managed to get themselves another two points before Prodigy hit 14 and won the game.
“I must say from the time I played it didn't look like the Bravado we're used to. But I give all credit to my team, they worked really hard together and at practice everyone was putting something in,” says Rhodes.
Throughout the game, Stephen “Vitrolic” White played AK mostly, only playing Scope every now and again. Michael 'Bl4ck0ut' Ferguson, who plays for Bravado, says that he really enjoyed the game.
“Prodigy put in the hard work which was clearly evident with their smokes and 'nades. All round it was a close game and I hope that Prodigy will continue playing hard and bring on the heat!” he says.
Do Gaming reported before the leg that many of Bravado's players would be on holiday, which has no doubt disrupted their practice sessions. The team are currently sitting third on the results ladder, equal with miNt Gaming, but there are still another three matches to play.
They are to play miNt this week on City Streets, VintAge the following week on Backlot, and UbS | Enigma for their pick and play match.
Meanwhile, Prodigy are looking very good on the roster, sitting at the number one position after winning all of their games thus far. They are yet to play Area 52 this week, Pantheon the following week and [DF] Dark Horizons for their pick and play match.
Bravado were not entirely available at the time of writing as they were in a practice session.
