BOTC Registrations Close Saturday

With the start of the Battle of the Clans (BOTC) tournaments just around the corner, teams from all over the country are invited to take part. Registrations close on Saturday so teams should get registered quickly. The single elimination tournaments offer clans the opportunity to determine who the best team really is.

After looking at both Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (BC2) game modes, Do Gaming has decided to stick with Conquest for BOTC. BOTC and Do Gaming will host a BC2 Rush tournament shortly after the Do Gaming LAN Championships when there is more time to prepare the needed servers and adjust the rules.

Why should your BC2 team take part?

Elimination cups offer an excellent opportunity to learn from the best teams. If your team is in the first or second divisions, you dont often get the opportunity to take on a Premier Division team in a match with meaning.

Even if your team loses against the Premier Division team, you will walk away from the match with a ton of experience, even if you dont realise it at first.

Before a match begins, teams will eliminate maps which they either dislike or know the other team are good on in the hopes to play a map which suites their team. This often results in the game being played on a map which both teams are all right with - providing an exciting game.

The final reason for taking part is simply because of the underdog factor. Your team could pull off the unthinkable by beating a Premier Division team and sending them packing!

And what about the Counter-Strike: Source teams?

For anyone who is following the Counter-Strike: Source (CS:S) Do Gaming League, it is obvious that this year all the teams are closer together than ever before. With so many unexpected results each week, predicting who will win each map has become an impossible feat. Any CS:S team in the community currently has a fair shot at gold.

The other reason for taking part is the upcoming Do Gaming LAN Championships. Almost all teams have been making final line-up changes for the fourth leg of the league and BOTC offers the perfect method to validate those changes before the Championships. Finding out if your team should be left as is or if more changes are necessary is paramount to any organised team who has their eyes on the LAN Championships trophy.

Do Gaming Inc COD4 Cup:

For the Call of Duty 4 (CoD4) teams, Incredible Connection has put together a R2000 voucher for the winners of the Do Gaming Inc CoD4 Cup. Unlike the other two cups, only the Premier and First Divisions are invited to take part.

The Do Gaming Inc Cup will run over four days, starting on a Thursday and ending on a Sunday. The format used will be double elimination and a hybrid between Bo1 and Bo3 will be used.

All games up to and including the quarter finals will be played using best-of-one, meaning only one map is played for those matches. From the semi-finals and onwards, the matches will be played using best of three. This formula offers the best of both worlds.

Registrations for the Do Gaming Inc cup closes on 28 July.

Registering:

BC2 and CS:S teams simply need to navigate to the BOTC Cups on the Do Gaming League website to register. Some teams will need to instruct their members to fill in certain details such as their phone numbers or ID numbers before the system will allow the team to register for the event.

Teams entering the Do Gaming Inc Cup will need to link up their accounts to the Gaming Inc site and then verify their account. This can be done here.

If a team needs to make line-up changes but cannot due to taking part in one of the current leagues, the team's leader will need to create a second sub-team within the clan. Please remember to register substitutes as no extensions will be granted in BOTC whatsoever.
