Bravado and Lard Face Off in CoD4 Tonight

After a two-day delay of birthdays, project deadlines and holidays, the quarter-final / leg 3 Champions Cup playoff between last year’s Do Gaming League (DGL) Championship finalists will take place tonight. It’s a familiar feeling for both bvd.Call of Duty 04 and =BFB=laRd, but neither one is underestimating the potential for defeat.

From Bravado’s side, captain Luca “RoBoHoBo” Tucconi is confident they’ll take the win tonight. “I feel that laRd haven’t been playing as consistently as they did last year,” says Tucconi. He admits laRd is – and always has been - a good contender and Bravado won’t be going into the game lightly.

Tucconi says his clan has been testing their skills on the international stage: taking part in several international competitions – like the Vita Nova CyberGamer Invite League Cup - and building up their gaming experience. He adds that Bravado is sporting a strong and diverse team and implementing three different play styles ahead of tonight’s meeting with laRd. Having won the DGL legs consistently throughout the year, Tucconi says, “We’re looking good for tonight, and looking good for the Championship”.

Meanwhile, it’s been a bumpy start to a big day for =BFB=lard. With one clan member having landed from a two-week trip to the United States just hours ago, and napping to get rid of any jetlag, laRd captain Rynier G “Cranky” Schoeman says his clan intends to put up a big fight.

He’s a little concerned about their two-week hiatus from practice though, but he believes his clan can win it.

“I trust my players and I know we can do well”, he says.

It’s not often that these two league clans meet in playoff games: there’s a long-standing rivalry between the two when they meet in finals – and tonight’s match is sure to be no different.

Schoeman admits that Bravado has a slight advantage going into the Leg 3 play-off match because they’re part of the Premier Division. LaRd has had to work their way up from the lower divisions this year after registering late for the league. As such, Schoeman explains that Bravado’s presence in the Premier League is an advantage.

“They've been able to consistently compete against other Premier teams throughout the year. We met only with Premier clans during practice rounds and it’s never quite the same,” he says.

While Schoeman says Bravado are definitely the favourites, he’s confident that laRd can make an upset and move into the playoff semi-finals.

Meanwhile, the two Premier teams ASF and DI Chaos have been relegated to the First Division after losing out in the first round of the playoffs. Also, First Division teams UberSoldaten (.UbS|pRey) and Like a baws (BaWdCoD4) have showed a lot of promise, but neither of these teams managed to earn a spot in Premier.
