CoD4: xTc and Regiment Not Quite There

It's come down to an ASF and Bravado Champions Cup Final in the Call of Duty 4 (CoD4) DGL 2012 second leg, with xTc and BFB Regiment finding themselves coming close to the finish line but not quite getting there.

Both teams managed to solicit first map draws from their competitors in the semi-finals, but after that the two powerhouses of Bravado and ASF pulled things back in their favour. XTc had faced Bravado while BFB Regiment were up against ASF.

In the details, xTc and Bravado hopped onto Crossfire first which ended up in the draw but after that Bravado pulled a massive 13 – 3 win on Strike. No doubt this was demotivating for xTc but they didn't do too badly at pulling back, ending Backlot on a 13 – 11 deficit.

It was almost exactly the same in the ASF vs Regiment game. It started on Citystreets which ended in the draw, but on Strike ASF pipped a 13 – 8 win and then on Backlot things ended 13 – 10 to ASF.

Hopes for an upset in this Cup have therefore not come to a fruition and the final is mostly business-as-usual. But ASF will no doubt be wanting to garner this win after Bravado topped the logs for the second leg and was the winner of the last leg's playoffs (ASF were then still playing as Vitriolic).

Bravado will want a clean run of leg victories throughout the year to add to the trophy cabinet and be able to continue to claim the title as the best of the best. But we'll have to see.
