CoD4: IM Plays Well, But Not Enough

The logs for the second leg of the Call of Duty 4 (CoD4) DGL 2012 would have been given quite an interesting shake up had Immersion (iM) taken out Vitriolic (vtL) in last night's match-up. It was not to be, however, as Vitriolic took the game 2 – 0 in a match where iM captain Labeeq 'Cracken$' Bardien says they were “outplayed”.

“But we played well and did give them a run for their money, and at the end of the day that's what we wanted,” he says.

It started with the teams hopping on Strike as iM took Attack. The map went immediately to vtL's favour who shot ahead by five rounds with iM's Juan 'Edge' Van Wyk suffering line problems.

That's when Bardien brought Dean 'Judo:D' Lotter to replace Van Wyk. Lotter, who has been performing very well lately, immediately made his presence known by swinging things to give his team five points by half-time, with vtL only two points ahead. While vtL was playing a somewhat differently organised line-up, they changed things around in response to Lotter joining the game.

“We're used to playing with [Lotter]. He has had line problems himself this last week, but we sorted that out on the night and were able to bring him in. He plays well and his cover is brilliant and everything he does works well with us – he's exactly what we need him to be as a team-mate,” says Bardien.

Bardien adds that vtL did seem to hint at being shocked at how well things went and he felt they might have gotten a little nervous. However, Strike ended in vtL's favour with a score of 13 - 11.

But Crossfire saw things change drastically yet again, with vtL taking it 13 – 5.

“We started on attack and everything was going well until about 5 – 7 (to vtL). Then they just completely messed with our minds. It's as simple as that – they pushed out for the kills, they got the rounds in, we weren't sure what to do next, and they outplayed us,” Bardien says.

Now with three wins under their belt for this leg, it looks like it's headed to be another Bravado vs vtL leg. Week 6 will see these two teams clash. IM faces DI Chaos next week while vtL will go against hacKME.
