After an eventful GamesCom in Cologne, Germany, Do Gaming has decided to put forth a number of games for its own best-of awards with titles sitting in some rather unusual categories, just to spice things up a little.
If you have been following the Gamescom coverage on Do Gaming, you will also be able to take part by casting your vote for each individual category.
Best of Show – Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3, Diablo 3
The Best of Show is the game that had one of the best looking booths, the most accessibility and the best overall display of gameplay at GamesCom. We feel that Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 and Diablo 3 fit this category because all three provided hands-on gameplay and all three brought something new to the table.
Which of our three nominees would you award Best of Show?
The Best New IP goes to a title that stands on its own to compete against the bigger games. RAGE, Dishonored and The Secret World were chosen for their great ideas and playability.
Which game would you award Best New IP?
Biggest Surprise – Prey 2, Risen 2, FIFA Street
The Biggest Surprise award goes to the game that you just don't expect that much from or you haven't heard that much about, but when you see it you realise it could rival the best of the best. Prey 2, Risen 2 and FIFA Street fit nicely into this category.
Which game would you say was the Biggest Surprise?
Most Anticipated Game – Borderlands 2, Diablo 3, Battlefield 3
The Most Anticipated Game award goes to the games that have everyone talking at the moment. While this was a tough choice to make, we feel that Borderlands 2, Diablo 3 and Battlefield 3 were the biggest talking points of the show.
Which of our Gamescom nominees do you think is the Most Anticipated Game?
Biggest Disappointment – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Modern Warfare 3
The Biggest Disappointment goes to these three games which failed to bring anything new to the Gamescom event or ultimately disappointed the team with some form of bad news.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim had the exact same gameplay presentation from E3 with no hands-on; Future Soldier was delayed for the fourth time and had no hands-on; and Modern Warfare 3 showed only console play with little else making waves in the first-person shooter category.
