More Skyrim Steam Users than MW3

The Steam Stats are showing that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is beating Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in the department of concurrent users.

At the time of writing, Steam is reporting 125,060 current Steam players on its network with a peak today of 287,411. Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer currently has 50,497 users with a peak of 86,832.

Earlier this week, PC Gamer reported 231,593 players Skyrim players as opposed to 78,161 for Modern Warfare 3. It seems this trend is continuing.

This is quite a difference in numbers between the two games. It would be interesting to hear how the two games compared from a sales perspective on Steam, although Activision says that Modern Warfare 3 has broken records from a retail perspective.
