No Prestige Edition for Modern Warfare 3

Infinity Ward has confirmed that there will be no Prestige Edition for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 when it launches later this year.

Many gamers may remember that Modern Warfare 2 came with a set of Infrared Goggles and Black Ops came with a remote control car. Each of these versionsclocked in at quite a hefty price so most gamers may have been waiting for the announcement and saving up for what they thought was the inevitable.

Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward creative strategist confirmed that there is no Prestige Edition on Twitter recently.

“There is ... only a Hardened Edition for MW3,” he said.

The Hardened Edition of Modern Warfare 3 will include 12 months subscription to the Elite service but will also reportedly include future downloadable game content like map packs and other exclusive benefits. Although, this version hasn’t even been announced in South Africa yet, so time will tell.

Modern Warfare 3will be coming out at the beginning of November on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
