One of the golden discs that Modern Warfare 3 was printed on has apparently gone missing in Fresno, California from a shipping warehouse.
According to an exclusive report from GamesBeat, there is either a full PC copy of the game, or at least a portion of it, that has been circulating in US territories which has been copied and shared.
Piracy is a huge issue in this day and age and it is especially big for the large companies that have the massive titles coming out that many gamers if not all, are expected to buy. According to the Gamesbeat article, Activision Blizzard is hoping to sell more than 20 million copies of the game in 2011.
Thankfully, the report states that the pirate was only able to get away with one disc and apparently the disc that was thieved was Disc 2 of the two-disk box set for PC. Gamers are posting around on forums and blog for users not to buy or play the game before the release date because “they will come get you”.
The post says if you buy the game before release, you will be fined a hefty amount and could cost permanent suspension from playing online.
