Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will arrive on the Nintendo Wii on the 8th of November along with the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC versions.
This was confirmed at a post-earnings conference call. There has been no news yet on whether the Wii version will have unique features.
Gamers are left to ask whether Activision had decided this as a result of the rivalry with Electronic Arts’s Battlefield 3. What does this mean for first-person shooters of the future? Nintendo’s break into decent first-person shooters could undoubtedly mean expanding an already successful genre.
Unfortunately there are many factors to consider, such has graphics, quality of online play and controls. Sony has already tried to chip off the motion control iceberg with SOCOM: Special Forces, would Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 integrate similar features on the Wii?
