Monster Gaming (mG) is shaking up the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) DGL, brought to you by Alienware, Megarom and Monster Energy, as the clan's two Premier League teams have risen to the semi-finals in the playoffs. Unfortunately for them, however, they're due to face each other in the next game while Bravado and impi face off on the other end. (See here).
Between the two teams, it's more likely that, given their past performance, mG | MW3 will go through rather than mG | KHAOS. If Bravado takes out impi it will end in a mG | MW3 versus Bravado playoff final, giving the mG team an opportunity to reach their second goal of this leg.
In July after the mG | MW3 team beat 32B | Red, Brandon 'broKeN_' De Beer, mG MW3 manager, said that beating 32B was, for him, an important milestone for the leg.
“For me, our biggest competition this leg was made up of 32B and Bravado. We've now beat 32B, one of the most difficult teams for us in this leg, and there's just Bravado left,” he had said. “I'm expecting us to do well – we want a good season for the DGL 2012 Championships and that's our goal this leg.”

Kasim 'CAWA' Ahmad, who manages mG, says it's a unique situation as, in his opinion, both teams are as good as each other.
“The guys are feeling pretty amped at the moment. Both teams have been working extremely hard in the last month or so on strats and keeping certain tactical advantages hidden from each other,” he says. “Getting into the Champions Cup final is what we have been working for since MW3 started. I'm glad the hard work that all at mG have put in has paid off. I'm looking forward to the next few games and wish the remaining teams the best of luck.”
Megarom has sponsored R50,000 to the DGL 2012 Championships.
Impi move through
In the playoffs, impi managed to oust 32B | Red from rising any further, taking a significant 13 – 6 win on Seatown followed by a 13 – 5 win on Underground. Charlie 'spArticus' van Dyk, impi captain, says they employed a different strategy to their usual.
“32B are known as a strong rushing team and rather than hunting for them as we usually would do, we waited for them and got the picks off their rushes,” he says.
It's interesting seeing impi rise this far again after the team has undergone a lot of changes in the year. Van Dyk says they're still in a team-building phase but are calm about their game against Bravado.
“It's going to be difficult,” he says.
When it comes to the Championship the team are attending a LAN this weekend and they'll be doing a lot of practicing, especially in LAN situations, in their preparation. However, they are still to choose their Championship team.

ASF and Divine relegated
Interestingly, Renegades (previously an ASF team but no longer) was beaten by rQ-Risen in the first round. The first map was handed to rQ while the second map was a draw. Renegades took the last map, but an overtime on the second map to rQ gave them the 2 – 1 win. That win relegates Renegades to the First Division.
Meanwhile, Divine Gaming has not managed to sort out its line-up issues either, which has resulted in the team retiring and therefore forfeiting.
