Registrations for the Do Gaming League (DGL) 2012 season are open and gamers / teams can start signing up.
We're sporting a huge amount of games this year for the League. We've also introduced Cups for console titles (Modern Warfare 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360; Gears of War 3) and three racing titles (Forza 4 on Xbox 360; Gran Turismo 5 on PS3; rFactor on PC).
For console players, we're running FIFA 12 on PS3 and Xbox 360 this year once again.
As has already been announced before, we're seeing some great sponsorships already coming through. Electronic Arts (EA) has sponsored R50,000 in cash to the Battlefield 3 league and Gaming Inc has matched that with its own R50,000 – meaning already R100,000 is in the pot for the Battlefield 3 DGL 2012 Championships.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 sees Megarom sponsor R50,000 in cash and energy drink Monster put in R10,000 (along with branded t-shirts including the clan name and caps and a case of Monster Energy drinks for each member of the team every month for a year).
For the DGL 2011 season the Call of Duty 4 Champs saw R80,000 in cash prizes from Telkom and Samsung sponsored the Starcraft 2 Championship with over R200,000 worth of hardware given away. Not to mention the large cash prizes given to the FIFA Champions as well.
So this year promises to be even bigger and better with substantial prizes already announced. Check out the League Games page for more info on which games we're supporting.
