Call of Duty Out Tomorrow

Call of Duty: Ghosts will launch this Tuesday, 5 November as Activision looks to trump EA's Battlefield 4 which released last week.

The next instalment of the hit first-person shooter franchise is the sixth to be developed by Infinity Ward and will require over 40GB of free hard drive space to install.

Infinity Ward's Mark Rubin has also confirmed that Ghosts will run natively at 1080p on PlayStation 4, and is up scaled to 1080p from 720p on Xbox One.

"We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both," says Rubin.

Interestingly, new mechanics have been added to the classic Call of Duty type multiplayer. Maps now have areas that can be destroyed to trigger traumatic events that alter and shape layout (sound familiar), while the sniper rifle scopes now come with "dual render technology", allowing the player to see around the outside of the scope when zoomed in.

Pre-ordered versions of the gamewill include a bonus "dynamic" map called Free Fall and also get Simon ("Ghost") Riley from Modern Warfare 2 as a playable multiplayer character.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will release on current-gen as well as for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 upon their own release later this month.

The new Call of Duty also comes with a fancy new live-action trailer starring Megan Fox and echoes The Hangover.
