Xbox Trumps PS3 In COD Entries

Registrations for the Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) Call of Duty: Ghosts 2014 - Summer Leg are officially CLOSED.

Interestingly, Xbox 360 entries for Activision's latest first-person shooter stand more than double than that of their console counterpart, the PlayStation 3 (PS3).

The end of the registration period, following a one-week extension, sees Xbox clock in at 34 entries compared to the PS3's 17, while the PC version leads convincingly on 51 entries - as expected.

Successful, international Multi-Gaming Organisations (MGO's) are renowned for competing in a number of different, competitive titles and boast teams across all platforms - a trend notably lacking in local South African e-Sports.

High profile teams like Bravado Gaming, Energy e-Sports and Team immersion tend to dominate much of the local competitive COD scene but none of the aforementioned teams are yet to pick up a console outfit.

Could Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge make a surprise switch to Energy e-Sports during the January Transfer Window?

Registrations indicate that there is in fact a large following for a competitive console community, perhaps it is only a matter of time before we see some 'box' teams affiliate themselves with some of the country's most successful MGO's.

The Summer Leg is scheduled to start on Monday, 3 February.

Groups and matchups will be confirmed later this week.
