Naval Strike DLC Out on PC

Following a lengthy delay the Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC is available for Battlefield Premium members on PC, along with a patch for all Xbox One BF4 players.

The DLC was originally scheduled to launch last week Tuesday, 25 March but was pulled from the platform at the last minute with the developer citing ‘quality issues’.

"We have delayed the PC version of Naval Strike because we are concerned that the combination of the pack and planned PC updates would increase performance issues on mid-range to high-end PCs," said DICE Battlefield community manager Ian Tornay.

“Quality is our number one priority and we will not release Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC until we feel it meets the highest quality level possible."

Well as of today, Premium members can now download and play the new DLC while others will have to wait for another two weeks.

The aforementioned patch includes several improvements to the netcode, progression system, weapons and vehicles, and other general improvements, such a "fix for soldiers getting catapulted when walking on steep surfaces."

The Naval Strike DLC for Battlefield 4 introduces four new multiplayer maps, five new weapons, two gadgets, and a new hovercraft vehicle that can traverse both land and water. It also adds the Carrier Assault mode, which is an homage to Battlefield 2142's fan-favourite Titan mode.

The ‘Naval’ add-on is the third of five planned Battlefield 4 expansions due for release in 2014.
