Few Registrations for FPS Games

First Person Shooter (FPS) games have always been a staple in the Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) but this year it seems gamers prefer other genres. With very few gamers actually having registered for the four different FPS games it seems that the genre may be slowly sinking.

As said in a previous article, the release schedule for games such as Call of Duty makes gamers unable to become really skilled and with the inclusion of more games; such as Hearthstone, Mortal Kombat 9 and Street Fighter X Tekken in the DGL, some games might take a nose dive in popularity.

It is also to be said that being in a team for the DGL is a lot more difficult than playing by yourself as you wouldn’t have to take other people into account when practicing or planning the match dates. While the registrations for most of the DGL competitions are generally slow before and just after the festive season, the numbers are sure to grow as we approach closing dates for registration. Some of the more popular FPS titles in previous DGL’s should see a surge of registrations prior to the closing date.

There are still 16 days before entries close and if you would like to register your team, you can do so via the DGL website.
