Busy Weekend for BF4 Playoffs

While some of us are gearing up for a relaxing weekend or the Liberty Lan, it seems the Battlefield 4 (BF4) Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) 2014 Summer Leg Playoffs are not letting anything get in their way of getting some slaying done over the course of the weekend, as four matches are scheduled to be played.

The first match to kick off the long weekend takes place later today, as xTc.Death Guard face off against rG-Revolution. This is the first of two matches for rG-Revolution over the course of the weekend, who currently sit at 1 – 0 – 1 so far in Group A of the Playoffs. A win tonight will put the ReBeL-Gaming side tied for first place for the moment, and closer to one of the two Premier Division spots available from the group.

xTc.Death Guard may have something to say about that however, as they are looking to get some wins under their belt after a loss to [SSG] Panda Bandits in their opening match of the Playoffs. The game is set for an 8pm start this evening, Thursday 17 April.

A win tonight for the Death Guard side may be the confidence booster they need to take down [SSG]Maersk on Sunday evening in their third playoffs match. [SSG]Maersk have already shown that they don’t go down easily, having managed to out [dM]ReCoil on Tuesday evening to put themselves on top of Group A for the mean time.

MSi are sponsors of the BF4 Telkom DGL 2014.

rG-Revolutionary will be set for revenge on Sunday evening as they take on the Super Serial Gamer’s side they have yet to play, [SSG] Panda Bandits in their penultimate game for the Summer Leg Playoffs. [SSG] Panda Bandits has yet to lose a game and are proving to be strong competitors with their brother side for the Premier Division spots. rG-Revolutionary did have some really close rounds in their match against [SSG]Maersk however, so the potential for a win is definitely there.

There is one Group B match this week, set for Sunday evening between PewPew AlphaMikeFoxtrot and DC.eLement. DC.eLement has had a disappointing start to the year after managing to reach the Do Gaming Championship finals in Battlefield 3 in 2013, and is one of the teams from Premier Division made to fight for their lives in the Summer Leg Playoffs.

They have to face off against PewPew AlphaMikeFoxtrot, another familiar face in the Battlefield scene. After managing to make it into the Battlefield 3 Premier Division last year, the team just missed making it to the Do Gaming Championships after a disappointing Winter Leg Playoff run.

Regrouping under a new name for a new game has clearly helped the side, as they managed a convincing second place finish in Group D to [SSG] Panda Bandits in the Summer Leg Open Division. With one win under the belt already, a win against DC.eLement on Sunday puts them in good stead to obtain a Premier Division spot.

All matches on Sunday evening are scheduled for an 8pm start.
