BF4 5v5 Enters Penultimate Week

There are just two weeks left of play in the Battlefield 4 (BF4) 5v5 Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) 2014 Summer Leg, with a few teams pulling away from the others in their respective groups.

[dM].defuse has taken a strong hold of Group A and currently lead the group by 7 points with a 5 – 0 – 0 standing. The runners-up so far in Group A are [NSD]AFK, who are looking good to take a second place finish with a 3 – 0 – 1.

Group’s B and C are not quite so clear year, with the top two teams in both groups being within just one point of the other. KoD DaRkNeSs currently lead Group B with 13 points, but have 225_BF4 right behind them with 12 points.

P_BF4 GEUY in Group C are leading group C thanks to the one point gained from a loss, as ApG.Blitzkrieg are at 12 points with a 3 – 0 – 0 compared to the 3 – 0 – 1 standing from the Prodigy Gaming side. Additionally, ApG.Blitzkrieg has a match this week while P_BF4 GEUY has a “bye week”, so it is possible we may see a new Group C leader before the end of the week.

Group D has only five teams left in the competition for the Summer Leg due to multiple teams retiring, and is currently being led by [CCG] | Zero who have three wins in the bag already. ETG Psychedelics have their most important match this week in Group D as they face down against [CCG] | Zero, as both teams have yet to take a loss so far in the Summer Leg.

Whoever takes the win in that matchup will most likely take the group, so both teams will surely be on top form in the final weeks of play.

Because of the change of game mode after the start of the Summer Leg from Defuse to Domination due to the inherent bugs in the former mode registrations were reopened for a short time, with an additional ten teams entering into the Summer Leg.

Having formed their own group the seven teams still remaining in the competition have three weeks left of play, but the strong teams are already making their presence known. This ad-hoc group is currently lead by Damage Control’s newly formed BF4 5v5 team, DC-BF4 5v5, who lead the standings at 3 – 0 – 0. With teams like eS~SnowflakePretzel hiding in the mix in this group, there could well be another leader before the Summer Leg comes to a close, so make sure to keep an eye on the action.
