[NSD]Sons of Liberty Coping Well with Busy Times

The last week of the Battlefield 3 (BF3) Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) 2013 Winter Leg is a busy one for the [NSD] Sons of Liberty side, and started on Sunday evening when they faced off against the strong eLement – Lithium side.

The Never Say Die squad managed to overcome the eLementGaming side and keep their record undefeated in the Winter Leg with only two games left to play. Tyron “Prokill” Bataille, vice – captain of the NSD side, wrote a full match report over on the NSD site. Here’s a brief description of what went down.

Knife Round

Nicholas “Shizznazz” Hayes and Boudhi “Euphoria” Emmett met at the highway of dead for the knife round to determine who would start the elimination. With a few hacks and slashes, Emmett managed to top the weak Hayes, and after the eliminations and picks were done, the maps were decided to be Grand Bazaar, Karkand and Metro.

Map One – Bazaar

[NSD]Sons of Liberty, starting as US, were well aware of eLement – Lithium’s game plan for this map, and had taken that into account when they went into the map. Whether it was necessary or not was a different question entirely, as the strong NSD infantry managed to best them anyway.

With captain Danie “Heckers” Nell getting four kills on the eLement side with a single grenade and the rest of NSD giving showcase performances as well, the NSD side managed to keep up the pressure and take Round One with 88 tickets to spare.

The [NSD]Sons of Liberty squad continued domination in round two, but eLement – Lithium did managed to fight back and bleed some of the Never Say Die squad’s tickets, and the game went from 148 – 12 to eventually end on 84 – 0.

Map Two - Karkand

Round one of Karkand looked like it was going to be over quickly, as [NSD]Sons of Liberty managed to get a near perfect start, only to notice the tickets were wrong, forcing the round to be restart. Although they met defences the second time around, they still managed to get past the eLement squad, and ultimately finish the round in just over three and a half minutes with 179 tickets to spare.

The Battlefield 3 DGL 2013 is sponsored by EA.

This means that [NSD]Sons of Liberty are still undefeated in their Winter Leg run, and face their toughest matches yet this week as they take on [TE]Infamous in their final week match, and more importantly, bvd.BF3 in their pick ‘n play match due to take place on Sunday night.

Bataille still feels confident about his side, and believes they have what it takes to remain undefeated in the Winter Leg. Haven beaten the bvd.BF3 side in a friendly not so long ago, they know they have what it takes to bring down the titan side if they bring their A – game.

As the Never Say Die the MGO, they are definitely moving expanding as well, as they recently announced their partnership with Hewlett Packard (HP) Networking , a sign that eSports in South Africa continues to grow in popularity.

Bataille also teased that there is an exciting announcement coming, but as of yet is unable to reveal what it might be. If you are like me, and would like to know what the mystery is about, some of the Never Say Die players, namely Nicholas “Shizznazz” Hayes, Devereaux “Notion-Za” Biddlecombe and Willie “Oakley_Razor” Botes, will be on the Fresh Drive on 5FM with DJ Fresh on Thursday between 3 – 6pm. If you are unable to get to a radio, 5FM also has streaming capabilities, just head on over to their site below:
