As was announced at the beginning of this year, R100,000 is being given away at the Battlefield 3 Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) 2012 Championship, courtesy of EA and Incredible Connection's Gaming Inc, who have each sponsored R50,000. But also up for grabs are eight Alienware PC's, courtesy of Dell Alienware.
However, how will the prizes be divided up?
The Alienware X51's will be given out to the team that tops the Championship, meaning each gamer on the team will take home one of these super-powerful machines. Moreso, the top team will take home R45,000 while the second-placing team will be taking home R22,000. Here's the breakdown:
It's been a fantastic year of e-Sports with Battlefield 3 being one of the most exciting and largest leagues of this DGL year. For most of the year Bravado have dominated but sixteen teams will converge at the Championship to see who really is the best; and since things change in a LAN environment, we can expect an upset.
This year prizes worth a half-million rand are at stake at the Telkom DGL 2012 Championships, the largest prize pool in the history of the DGL, with games including Starcraft 2, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Gran Turismo 5 and FIFA 12 on both Xbox 360 and PS3, in addition to Battlefield 3.
Gamers who blog about the DGL at the Do Gaming community blog also stand the chance of winning one in three Alienware X51 PC's.
The DGL 2012 Championships will be taking place at rAge 2012 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg.
