Samsung is sponsoring a World Cyber Games (WCG) Guitar Hero: World Tour Tournament at rAge expo 2009.

The event is a single-elimination tournament. Out of registrations received, 16 lucky competitors will be chosen by Samsung to compete at the event.

The winner will go to Chengdu, China to compete at the WCG Grand Final on 11-15 November.

Tournament format - WCG Qualifiers at rAge.

Players are required to be in possession of a valid rAge expo ticket to compete in these qualifiers. Players will need to report to the Samsung stand for online registration player verification. Players not reporting to the match officials on time will forfeit their place to compete in the qualifier and members from the public will have the opportunity to fill the place to compete in the Qualifier on the day of the competition.

The list of possible songs for the qualifier can be viewed at the info tab. The tournament director will draw three songs on the day, and these songs will be used for all games played during the qualifier.

The competition will be limited to 16 players. Registrations are open to everyone, but the final players to play in the tournament will be invited to play by Samsung at their own discretion.

Tournament Format:

Players will compete in a 1 vs 1 format, single elimination, and the player with the highest score will win the game. Players will play the best out of three games in every round. The player with the highest score in each game will win the round.

The referee will take scores and players are required to sign the official match scorecard. The winner of each round will proceed in the single elimination format until a single winner is determined.

The winner of the qualifier final will be eligible to attend the WCG Grand Finals hosted in Chengdu, located in southwest Peoples Republic of China. The winner will be required to provide the tournament director with all the information required to process the application to attend the Grand Finals.
