Introduction
Superstars V8 Racing: Next Challenge (Next Challenge) is probably not the most anticipated racing title but hopes to bring more attention to the Superstars V8 Racing franchise by focusing its attention on the racing circuit.
Graphics
Next Challenge looks quite realistic in terms of visuals and the detail is certainly impressive. Having a total of 18 cars on the track will let players see how much work has gone into the graphics.
There are some frame rate issues as the game only allows a maximum of 30 frames per second (fps) on consoles and there are also some shadows which are of questionable quality.
Gamers will be able to switch between two weather options, sunny and wet. Unfortunately there are no special effects that other games have such as water off the tires or splashes on the windscreen.
As far as the visuals go, there is quite a lot to offer in the game but is ultimately let down by some poor visual effects; and while in comparison with its predecessor it is certainly an improvement, it just doesn’t quite make the cut when compared to other racing games of today.
