Darksiders puts players in control of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. War is an enforcer of the Charred Council, which is a neutral body that maintains order between the forces of heaven and hell.
The story is quite exciting. Players will fight both demons and angels from heaven and hell in order to fufill the Four Horsemen’s role of restoring balance after the Seven Seals have been broken.
Players will immediately be able to see the game is influenced by the likes of God of War, Devil May Cry and Prototype. The game is a third-person, hack and slash game designed for gamers who want to destroy giant beasts with a massive swords and otherworldly powers.
The storyline seems solid and quite fresh. Players will find that the expansive world Darksiders offers is great fun to explore in order to move around and whack straying beasts.
Players will find that the controls are relatively simple and easy to learn. Sometimes there is a lack of response on the controls, which can be quite frustrating in the direst of moments.
Other than a few minor flaws, the game is heaps of fun. Players will enjoy beating the demons around with some great looking combos. Gamers will be able to perform finishing moves as well, which slow the game down and look really great.
Overall the game has a strange sort of atmosphere . Players will feel in control most of the time, but confronting powerful demons or angels are challenging.
Whether it’s collecting souls for an archdemon, or simply milling around outside in the remains of what used to be a city, players will find that Darksiders is well worth the price and will bring a lot of enjoyment.
