YouTube has decided to showcase the amazing world of the geek by hosting the very first Geek Week. Throughout the week more than 100 channels, new videos, series premieres and creative collaborations will be showcased for your geekly pleasure.
Produced in conjunction with Nerdist in the U.S. and Channel Flip in the U.K., Geek Week will be spanning six crazy days from 4 to 10 August. The week started off with ‘Blockbuster Sunday’ for iconic characters, movies, sci-fi, fantasy, animation. Today, 5 August will see ‘Global Monday’; a day for looking at geek culture from around the world. The rest of the week will go as follows:
Brainiac Tuesday: a day dedicated science, education and knowledge; all of the things that make us geeks who we are.
Super Wednesday: It’s all about the superheroes, from parodies to real-life super powers; this day is going to be great as we see the exclusive Marvel trailer for “Thor: The Dark World”.
Gaming Thursday: I’m sure that many of you will be interested to see what comes about on this day, just a heads up, there will be a Guinness World Record attempt being live-streamed.
Fan Friday: Cosplay, Sci-fi and nerd debates on the final day of Geek Week. This will show the world just how awesome the geeky fans are.
Each day will be hosted by different YouTube personalities that fit the topic they are talking about, so for all you gamers out there who enjoy Machinima, be sure to catch ‘Gaming Thursday’.
