Ubisoft seem to be interested in some of THQ's assets following the bad news of the company being on the verge of closure.
GamesIndustry reports that Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, said that Ubisoft is interested in what THQ has to offer. It seems like only a predicted move though as Ubisoft has had a huge interest in the Wii U and may want to include THQ properties if possible.
THQ has been struggling and the transition from Wii to Wii U probably had an impact on them as well. Guillemot said that THQ has some really interesting titles and they (Ubisoft) “are always interested in good brands”.
As THQ recently sold off the UFC rights to EA earlier this year, some other rights may also be up for sale depending on how the company pulls through its financial difficulties. Given Guillemot and his almost vulture-like approach to THQ’s issues and the company selling off some rights, it may seem like a logical step to contact Ubisoft should more issues arise for THQ.
