If you are interested in playing a bunch of great games for $1 (around R9) then look no further than the THQ Humble Bundle.
The Humble Bundle has been going for some time already but ends in just over a day. Basically, you jump in and donate to a cause – whether it's helping THQ out of its financial difficulties or just supporting a charity. By doing so, you can own the likes of Red Faction: Armageddon, Darksiders, Metro 2033 and the Company of Heroes series for just R9 or whatever you want to pay.
On the Humble THQ Bundle, there is an average spend that gamers across the world have donated. This average tends to change now and then but not too drastically. At the moment it’s sitting at $5.67 (around R50) and if you donate more than the average you will be rewarded even more as it will unlock additional games to go with the bunch of games you already get. Saints Row: The Third and Titan Quest are both included if you spend over the average amount and THQ has just added Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War to the list of games too.
When you donate you get Steam codes which can be redeemed almost instantly. There are sliders on the site which allow you to allocate how you want your money to be divided up – whether its Child’s Play Charity or the American Red Cross or THQ that get the bulk of your cash. You can also give all the money to Humble Bundle, the team that sorts out the website and development of the promotion. So far, the Humble THQ Bundle has received just over $4.5 million at the time of writing.
