RSIStar Citizen reaches its funding after just a few days of launching a Kickstarter project.
Telkom Do Gaming reported yesterday that Star Citizen has moved to Kickstarter and the game has now reached its Kickstarter goal of $500,000. The official Kickstarter page now has just shy of $650,000 pledged to its name with 24 days to go.
RSI also had its very own crowd-funding project going on its website which has also improved from yesterday’s results. The funding is just under $1.5 million with half a million to go. It seems that both websites together will give them the $2 million funding that was needed for the total amount. This means that the game has been successfully funded and will go ahead.
Joystiq reports that Chris Roberts, founder of RSI, said that he hopes to have the backers be playing an early alpha version of the game within 12 months.
