Sir, You Are Being Hunted Hits Kickstarter Goal

Eurogamer reports that the “tweedpunk” survival game Sir, You Are Being Hunted has reached its Kickstarter funding goal.

Big Robot aimed to reach £40,000 by 2 December and is currently standing on £41,951 (about R600,000). The company said in a statement, “We’re stunned by how quickly we’ve hit target. This money is going to help us turn our prototype into a fully-fledged game of being hunted by robots. Animation and new art will be the priority and we’ll be revealing NPCs and other details in the coming days.”

Sir, You Are Being Hunted is set on a British swamp and features you running for your life from humanoid robots and their mechanical hunting dogs, who are hunting you – for sport. Something about running aimlessly across a moggy moor makes the game feel like Sherlock Holmes. Instead, with robots and running in fear.

The old-timey weaponry, mixed with aristocratic robots and their mechanical hounds, gives this game a creepy feel and a unique twist on the survival horror genre. Silent movie-type screeching violin music, interrupted every now and then with swirly Charlie Chaplin text and the occasional robot noise *Its right behind you* really works.
