Electronic Arts (EA) has revealed the minimum system requirements for The Sims 4 on PC according to a recent FAQ on the official site.
As expected, The Sims 4 will require Windows XP (or later), at least 2 GB RAM and 9 GB of hard drive space, with at least 1 GB of additional storage for custom content and saved games.
The Sims 4 will also be DirectX 9.0c compatible and is likely to scale up for those with higher-end machines.
REQUIRED: Internet connection (A one-time Internet connection, as well as an Origin account, will be required for product activation and installation - however a persistent online connection won't be necessary.)
OS: Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, or Windows 8.1
PROCESSOR: 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent (For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 or equivalent) MEMORY: At least 2 GB RAM
HARD DRIVE: At least 9 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games
DVD-ROM: DVD ROM drive required for installation only
VIDEO CARD: 128 MB of Video RAM and support for Pixel Shader 3.0. Supported Video Cards: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better, ATI Radeon X1300 or better, Intel GMA X4500 or better
SOUND CARD: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
DIRECTX: DirectX 9.0c compatible
INPUT: Keyboard and Mouse
The Sims 4 is scheduled to launch for the Windows PC on 2 September 2014.

Additionally, The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection is free to download on Origin from now until Thursday, 31 July and comes packed with all eight expansions and their 10 ‘stuff packs’.
To add the game, just follow these steps:
1. Start by downloading and installing Origin. If you already have Origin you can skip to step 3. 2. Not an Origin member? Create a free Origin Account to get in the game. 3. Launch Origin and log into your Origin Account. 4. From the ‘Games’ tab in the Origin menu, select ‘Redeem Product Code’ and enter the code I-LOVE-THE-SIMS
If you’re already an Origin member, you can also redeem your code online. Just visit the Origin code redemption page and log in to your Origin Account. Then enter I-LOVE-THE-SIMS in the ‘Product Code’ field.
