Konami Digital Entertainment has just made the announcement that the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 will be receiving a Sony Platform exclusive mission to celebrate the “series heritage” across the PlayStation range.
The “MGS1 Deja-Vu” mission harkens back to the birth of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, where players will have to live out key moments from the original Metal Gear Solid game, which was originally launched on the first PlayStation.
A flashback system will give users the original graphical style used in Metal Gear Solid, “complete with greatly reduced ‘vintage’ polygon count”, as well as some familiar enemies for added authenticity.
Completing the “MGS1 deja-vu” mission will be one of the criterions you will have to meet to unlock the classic “Solid Snake” skin inside of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes introduces a variety of new features, including a new open-world environment, time of day, varying weather conditions as well as improved AI.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is scheduled for an Autumn 2014 release, and acts as a prequel to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The game will cost you R412 on current and next generation systems, with the current generation downloadable version costing only R274 (barring any changes in the exchange rate).
