Minecraft PC Reaches 8 Million Copies Sold

CVG reports that Minecraft on PC is still selling like hot cakes – for a total of 8 million copies...so far.

Since series creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson announced 7 million sales in mid-August, the title has sold another one million copies.

But it’s not just the PC version that’s exceeding expectations. Minecraft’s Xbox 360 Edition has sold more than 4 million copies since 1 October. And it’s the most popular title on XBLA: more people play Minecraft than than FIFA 13 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Minecraft has broken XBLA records by selling more copies than any other game in its first 24 hours on XBLA. It also sold more than 1 million copies in under a week.
