Argentina and Barcelona icon Lionel Messi will once again grace the global cover of FIFA 15, EA Sports announced on Twitter yesterday.
This marks Messi’s fourth appearance on a FIFA cover after featuring on FIFA Street, FIFA 13, and FIFA 14.
In that time, Messi has set the record for most goals in a year (91) and marked a milestone as the only player to receive the FIFA Ballon d’Or four times.
A heartbreaking World Cup final defeat to Germany on Sunday saw Messi close off the competition with four goals while he also swooped up the Golden Ball award for best player in the tournament.
As usual, EA Sports will have different covers for different regions across the globe, but Messi will feature prominently on every separate edition. EA has suggested that the regional players will be announced "in the coming weeks".
Additionally, the company has confirmed that "The PC version will include all the same core features coming to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game".
This means the PC version will support the EA Sports Ignite engine, which was controversially excluded from FIFA 14’s PC port.
FIFA 15 will launch on 28 September for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
