LEGO Star Wars III Announced

TT Games and LucasArts, video game developers and publishers respectively, have announced that the third instalment in the popular LEGO Star Wars franchise is being developed, aptly named LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

The game will feature all the characters from both seasons of the animated television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and will also include some favourite characters from fans from the Star Wars movies.

According to a press release, the game will have new battle modes that will include a head-to-head combat system, upgraded level builders and the ability for players to create customised bases and in-game battlefields.

Gamers will play either as a Jedi or a Separatist with new character abilities, like Squad command, Lightsaber slicing, Lightsaber jumps, long distance Jedi attacks and Grapple-Tie-Ups.

TT Games are responsible for developing two LEGO games franchises that have been a git – namely the LEGO Star Wars series, but also the LEGO Indiana Jones series. Both of these have won numerous awards.

LEGO Star Wars III will be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, Nintendo DS and PSP.
