Publisher Square Enix is backtracking on its decision to include an online pass with Hitman: Absolution.
According to Eurogamer, the title’s Contracts Mode – levels designed by users as ‘reverse murder mysteries’ to be shared online – will now be made available to all players... for free.
Contracts Mode offers you user-built levels in which Agent 47 is involved in reverse murder mysteries.
A statement posted on the Hitman: Absolution Tumblr account said, “We’d actually planned to have this mode accessible via a code in the game’s box, but we really want to make it available to anybody that plays the game – so we want to take a new approach.”
Square Enix has confirmed that European players will have a Contracts Pass code in the game box, but it can be ignored because the item is now a free download.
