Let’s be honest. The various flavours of LEGO titles we’ve received in the past few years have been incredibly fun, are exceptionally playable and boast unrivalled gaming longevity. And now, Warner Bros. has announced the cherry on top: LEGO Marvel Superheroes.
According to Eurogamer, veteran LEGO games developer TT Games is at the helm again, developing the newest LEGO title for every platform.
It’s the first LEGO game to feature any of the Marvel characters we so dearly love. Spy Nick Fury needs the help of Marvel Heroes Spider-Man, Thor, the Hulk, Captain America, Deadpool, Hawkeye, Wolverine and the Black Widow, as they try to save the world from Galactus and Loki.
Too awesome... All your favourite superheroes in one game. The LEGO title to top them all?
The title boasts more than 100 characters to unlock (so the same as any other LEGO video game) and should follow a similar family-oriented, but still amazingly fun, platform/puzzler gameplay style. And you’ll be able to explore what lies beyond the Earth’s atmosphere and a LEGO New York.
Marvel’s Vice President of Games Production (who wouldn’t love that job, right?) TQ Jefferson said, “Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game.
“If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you,” he said.
The title is also tied in with Marvel’s LEGO toy line – and should be on the shelves in time for the premiere of Iron Man 3 later in 2013.
