It seems that DotA 2 has been tested on tablets and the end results were nothing but disappointing according to Valve boss, Gabe Newell.
In a post on Kotaku, Gabe Newell said that the development team is working on getting DotA 2 running tablets in the near future.
"We were working on getting Dota 2 running on some tablets. That ended up being kind of a disappointment. But the good news is that tablets are getting faster very quickly, so I think we'll get the kind of performance we want and other game developers want in the near future," he said.
I’m not really sure how DotA 2 would be able to hit tablets effectively, especially when competing with other gamers who have a mouse and keyboard at their disposal. Perhaps Valve will look into making a more relaxed version of the game that is more suitable to tablets in the future.
DotA 2 is still in the beta stages although keys are almost readily available for gamers these days. Chances are, if you don’t have a key for DotA 2, you don’t really want to play the game. The scheduled release has not yet been advertised but it should be sooner than originally planned thanks to the interest from fans.
