Command & Conquer’s New Fictional Universe

Command & Conquer developer, Victory Games, has suggested not only will they continue to expand on the Generals, Tiberium and Red Alert Universe but are also looking to add another.

In an interview with PC Gamer, Jon Van Caneghem, Victory's General Manager, revealed that the team has been working on the idea of another saga in the Command & Conquer universe.

“So, we like to say that 2013 is the beginning of the next 10 years of Command & Conquer games, and we’ve been building this platform and this first game to start that process,” says Caneghem.

“As we mentioned, our first outing is going to be in the Generals universe but over time we want to add the Tiberium universe and the Red Alert universe, even a new fiction we’ve been working on.”

Canegham went on to mention plans for content-driven single player campaigns and other additional updates.

“We’ll be adding content weekly, monthly, constantly going forward: new universes, campaigns, single-player, more game modes.”

The extended beta for the free-to-play RTS is expected later this year and will make full use of the Frostbite 2 engine.

They mentioned in an article on IGN that in the future they'll allow for crossover matches between factions from all the different CnC franchises. Sounds pretty awesome (:
