Borderlands 2 to Hit Android Devices

Borderlands 2 will be hitting certain Android devices when the game launches and will be mostly accepted on Tegra 3-powered devices.

Gearbox Software showed off Borderlands 2 at PDXLAN this month in the USA and had a showcase of the game running on a Tegra 3 tablet.

The Tegra chipset is manufactured by Nvidia and is used in mobile devices like smartphones, tablets and PDA’s. It uses the ARM processor technology that many might know from their cellphones and integrates a graphics processing unit, northbridge, southbridge and memory controller all into one package for a high performance experience.

It goes without saying that this probably won’t just run on any Android device given the look of Borderlands 2, but it’s a step in the right direction at least.

According to AndroidandMe the game is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and there is no word yet on when the game will be coming to mobile.
